I found her sun soaked, sepia in tone. Offered for a dollar on a dirty street. I imagine her photo was taken because of her new warm outfit. She would've been lost if I hadn't taken her in, gave her a home. I too remember what it felt like to be alone, admired briefly for something outside of me, my girl.

Artist Statement: As a surrealist painter, I explore ideas of connection by piecing together people, places, and objects I’ve come across in my life. My work expresses a collection of these that I strive to have timelessly live together. I like to open these worlds to the viewer by using reflective materials thoughtfully throughout my work to include them, for moments or however long they choose. In this way I can be assured these pieces are not only my own, but connected to others as well.
